Holiday Home - Sleeps from between 10 and 14 people

Battel Hall is a truly unique historic property set in a secluded location on the edge of the Leeds Castle estate. A medieval manor house, in private hands since the 14th century, Battel Hall opens its doors for bookings for the first time in its history in 2018 and is perhaps the Castle’s best kept secret. This charming property is ideally suited to group gatherings with friends or family, intimate weddings and corporate retreats.

Tastefully refurbished and wonderfully elegant yet comfortable, the manor house features five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and three exquisite reception rooms combining classic English interiors with an eclectic modern twist.

Nestled in the North Downs of Kent, Battel Hall is ideally located between London and Paris and is available to book on an exclusive hire basis from Spring 2018.

Galleried Entrance Hall: A galleried Hall is tastefully decorated with console tables, lamps and antique furnishings providing opulent luxury with comfort, while unique period features such as a medieval laver make for an impressive first impression. An accessible cloakroom on the ground floor is ideally situated adjacent to the Hall and Morning Room.

Dining Room: The Oak Dining Room features elegant panelling, which was originally housed in the Castle. A welcoming open fire and bespoke oak dining table seating up to 14 guests.

The Library: The Library offers sumptuous velvet and leather sofas, soft lighting and beautifully woven rugs. Open fireplace and parquet flooring.

Morning Room: The Morning Room features hand painted De Gournay wallpaper with a colourful palate of yellows and creams. Sunshine floods through doors opening out to the terrace, which wraps around the rear of the house.

Kitchen and Pantry:  The kitchen features a black and white traditional tiled floor and granite work surfaces in keeping with the English country house feel. A range-style cooker, double-fronted American fridge freezer and dual zone wine cooler, combined with three kitchen windows providing good natural light makes Battel Hall ideal for entertaining, whether cooking a kitchen supper for yourself or appointing the Chef for a dinner party. A Boot Room featuring washing machine and drier adds to the convenience of longer stays.

Bedrooms: Each of the five en-suite double bedrooms is decorated in its own unique style taking design inspiration from the Castle State Bedrooms. The Master Bedroom is decorated in powder blue and soft lilac to echo the Wisteria delicately adorning the manor house. The bedrooms echo the elegance and beauty befitting a manor house within a Castle estate with colour hues in regal golds, romantic pinks and elegant greens, royal blue and deep reds. Each Battel Hall bedroom features a super-king or king-size zip linked bed with the option of twin beds in one bedroom. Each bedroom features a luxury en-suite bathroom decorated with marble floor tiling adding a 1920's feel echoing the Castle’s last private owner Lady Baillie. Modern fittings such as roll top baths and showers ensure comfort is not comprised by the traditional styling.

Garden: The English country house style garden is enclosed and private with a historic Kentish bower offering shade by day and shelter in the evenings. Evergreen hedges surround the formal garden with roses, peony, irises and shrubs creating an atmosphere and fragrance of late spring. Wisteria decorates the house in delicate violet flowers in full bloom during May and June.

Ample private parking is available to the front of the property.
